Instructions

How to Make Cottage Cheese Bagels

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the cottage cheese and start mixing until you get a crumbly texture. Gradually add water, kneading until a smooth, non-sticky dough forms.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Let the dough rest in a warm place while the oven heats up. Then, divide it into three equal portions, roll them into balls, and poke a hole in the center using a piping nozzle (or your fingers) to shape them into bagels.
  • Brush the bagels with the beaten egg and sprinkle your favorite seeds on top. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Notes

  • For a savory twist, try topping your bagels with smoked salmon and fresh dill.
  • These bagels are great fresh out of the oven, but can also be toasted for extra crunch.
  • If you prefer a sweeter option, try a spread of cream cheese and a drizzle of honey.
