With frozen coconut ice cubes adding a tropical twist, it’s a smooth, indulgent treat that is perfect for hot days. Whether you choose regular milk or coconut milk, this easy recipe will satisfy your chocolate cravings with a burst of refreshing flavor. Quick and simple, this is the ultimate cool-down drink for any chocolate lover!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut water for freezing into ice cubes
  • ¼ cup milk for slurry
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 cup milk for heating with sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar adjust to taste
  • 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips for added richness

Instructions

  • Pour the coconut water into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight for the ice cubes.
  • Take a bowl and add ¼ cup of milk, corn flour, and cocoa powder to make a slurry. Mix it properly and set aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, pour 1 cup of milk and add sugar. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves. You can substitute regular milk with coconut milk for a stronger coconut flavor.
  • Add the prepared slurry to the simmering milk and sugar mixture. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
  • Once it thickens, add dark chocolate chips and stir until fully melted.
  • Once the mixture is thickened, remove it from heat and let it cool at room temperature or refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • Serve the cooled chocolate mixture in a glass with lots of coconut ice cubes and enjoy!

Notes

  • Freeze coconut water overnight for best results.
  • You can use coconut milk instead of regular milk for a richer coconut flavor.
